Hi there and welcome to my humble website. Note that this was the only and last use of that word, because there’s nothing humble about me. The very fact that you’re on my website means that I managed to get you to come here somehow, which proves that I have special powers and unlimited resources. Consider yourself warned. 🙂
If you really want to know (as I am sure you do), I am a Senior IT Professional and a Gaming Enthusiast. Software in general and Games in particular are my biggest interest and have been ever since I played my first computer game, back in 1986 on my ZX Spectrum 48K.
In the last 15 years I was very lucky to be able to work on fantastic Software Projects, work with the latest technologies and meet extraordinarily talented people. I have worked in projects for a wide variety of areas such as Healthcare, Education, Finance and Banking, Telecoms, Retail, Legal, Public Sector, Gambling and, fortunately, Games! In all those projects, I was able to work as a Software Developer, Analyst and Architect, as Team Leader, as Project Manager, as Development Manager and also as Game Designer and Game Producer. I even capitalized my commercial experience, gathered before 2001, by doing Business Development for some projects.
I successfully learned how talk to software users and costumers, understand what they need and to develop products that people feel comfortable using and improve their productivity and efficiency. I have learned how to manage projects, small and big, how to estimate costs and manage risks, how to look at the big picture without losing sight of the small details. But most importantly, I have learned how to better socialize and manage people’s interests and conflicts, because no one can achieve anything by itself and any team’s value is so much greater than the sum of its parts.
From my experience in the Gaming Industry, I was fortunate enough to meet people from all over the world (developers, game designers, artists, producers, etc), negotiated several publishing deals successfully as well as contracts with third party tool providers and was able to be present in a few Gaming Industry conferences (GDC San Francisco and Casual Connect in Europe).
I am currently living in Dublin, Ireland with my Wife and my kids, and I am a proud father of three beautiful children, my life’s biggest achievement and my ticket to Immortality.
I also have my Blog here where I speak about some of the things I am currently working on and every now and then I speak of general things that interest me. I do not blog regularly, though.
